VAN CLEEF & ARPELS IN SHANGHAI
Launched in May at Shanghai’s Museum of Contemporary Art, the “Timeless Beauty” exhibition
showcases 370 pieces of jewelry spanning more than a century from the collection of Paris-based house Van Cleef & Arpels. The show is the first of its kind in China and is clearly geared toward the country's growing ultra-luxury market.
Highlights of the exhibition, which runs until July 15, include a red and white gold “Silk Road Dancer” clip, which is embedded with rose-cut diamonds and rubies, as well as two new Zip necklaces — one in white gold and featuring diamonds, rubies and pearls and another outfitted with diamonds and onyx. The jewelry on display was worn by glamor icons like Jackie Kennedy, Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor and Princess Charlotte of Monaco.
